Morgan’s Journey

Highly interactive and delightfully engaging,
Morgan’s Journey
is an exuberant exploration of the joyous, and sometimes challenging,
experiences of childhood. From the moment of his birth, we follow Morgan
the Clown as he discovers the world around him with the help of his
friend Fred, a trickster sock puppet who teaches him the meaning of
love and
friendship.
First presented in Canada in 1982, Morgan’s Journey has been performed
every year since, winning the prestigious Chalmer’s Canadian
Play Award in 1987 and enjoying a performance history virtually unparalleled
in theatre for young audiences in Canada.
Robert Morgan has helped to establish Canada
as one of the world’s
foremost producers of theatre for young audiences. Robert has been
a strong advocate for arts in education, committed to bringing
performances to schools and non-traditional venues so that all children,
particularly
those who would not otherwise have the opportunity are able to
experience live theatre. Robert has written more than twenty professionally produced plays,
many of which have toured nationally and internationally and he
has acted
in and directed over forty productions. He has won the prestigious
Chalmers Award for Outstanding New Play six times. Four of his
plays have won
the Dora Mavor Moore award for Best Production. His work has received
a total of ten Dora nominations and has been performed around the
world.
