What is it?
In 8 days, from May 12-15 and 19-22, 18 original theatre pieces created by Yukon playwrights, performance artists, dance theatre artists and others will premiere at the Guild Hall.
Each evening will feature long and short performances in the Guild’s Theatre or cabaret style in the Guild’s OR (Other Room) – the one with the bar. After paying an initial (small) admission, you will be free to move around the festival site to see what ever you want.

What does it do?
Homegrown creates a venue for Yukon audiences to sample and enjoy locally created, raw and new theatre in all kinds of forms and lengths.
It also creates a place for Yukon playwrights to present their work.

What does it cost?
Part I: Evening admission is $7.50 and will get you into the Festival. This will help Nakai Theatre with the cost of running Homegrown.

Part II: Clap with your wallet!
This will help the performers know you care.
Once in the Guild site you’ll encounter a set of pots in the lobby. Each will have the name of a show running on your night at the festival. After seeing a show (or a night of shows) you will be asked to express your feelings about the show(s) by slipping a bill(s) into the pot. The pot will go directly to the groups producing each show each night.
