The Arrogant Worms
Thursday, January 13
Yukon Arts Centre 8pm $22
The world demands to be entertained
and The Arrogant Worms are the three dorks for the job. From humble
beginnings
on Kingston campus
radio, Canada's favourite musical comedy act has performed from
Saint John’s to Victoria and Orlando to Whitehorse. They’ve
produced seven popular CDs, three videos, and if that's not enough,
in 2001 The Worms were the biggest band in the universe for a few
minutes as their song Dangerous was played aboard the space shuttle.
How cool is that?
They continue to be CBC Radio
darlings, they’ve
been on commercial radio, TV and show up frequently on the Comedy
Channel. Unfortunately,
The Worms were never on the Rita MacNeil Show. However
Ms. MacNeil was never invited to contribute to an Arrogant Worms
album, so there
may be some bitterness there.
Chris Patterson
...sings and plays bass, likes golf and hopes one day that golf
will like him. Chris is quite the dancer. He doesn’t subscribe to
one style of dance–his is more like a stew. He hates
his pancreas and is lactose intolerant...and he has a drama
degree.
Mike McCormick
...sings and plays guitar. He took piano lessons as a child
and once sang in choir backing up Paul Anka. It’s been mostly downhill
from there, though he’s planning on building a deck.
Mike hopes to use his metallurgy degrees to become an Iron
Chef.
Trevor Strong
...sings and plays small instruments, some of which can’t be
seen by the human eye. Trevor has a degree in psychology and knows
what you’re thinking right now. He has some shade
of belt in karate and is not afraid to use it...to tie
up the attackers until
the proper authorities arrive.
